Shock & Awe

'I woke this morning at 5:15 to the sound of Haddie beginning to rouse. You say 'no big deal'. I say WOW she slept all night. She last fed at 9:00 pm and didn't wake again for 8 hours. WOW!!!! And to top it all off, she only had a dribble of spit up. For those of you that don't know, we have had a pretty bad time of her spitting up a lot of her meals. She has still been spitting up the past few weeks, but is gaining weight. Only a dribble. I'm excited, but will hold off on too much until I see if this happens again.'

The above was written Sunday morning.  It is now 2:48 AM Monday morning and I have been up for 2 hours and Haddie is still crying.  Everything has been checked twice - diaper doesn't need to be changed, she just fed and she doesn't need to be burped.  She'll probably be asleep soon which means I will be too.  Yah!

It is amazing to me how being up at 1:00 AM for several hours can be ok.  It's tough, but tollerable.  I never would have guessed.

I will leave you with a few awesome pictures we caught Saturday morning.

This is the beautiful smile Keith gets every time he sings to her.

And another one.  Even bigger this time.

Have a great day!

My First Blog

Ok. Bear with me as I start this. I set this up at least 2 years ago to reserve the address for the eventual time I might want to blog about my family. I will certainly not be one of those 'great' bloggers so don't expect too much. Well, we are here. I am now 22 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Yesterday was our 4th ultrasound of the pregnancy (it's been fun seeing baby so much) and finally the time to see if it is a boy or girl. Drum roll please! It's a GIRL!!! WOW!!!! I was completely SHOCKED! I wasn't hoping it was one or the other, but when I have imagined myself as a mother it has always been of boys. Boys I feel comfortable with. Raising a girl SCARES me. There I said it. I'm terrified and yet excited to know the little human being inside me right now is a girl. Last night I was at a girls Bible study for our youth group at church. The adults prayed after the girls left and one of the lady's prayed for Keith and I as we prepare to raise our daughter. That was when it hit me that we are going to be parents. We are going to have a daughter. OH MY!! Now it's time to start decorating the baby's room. I even went to a quilting store today to start getting ideas. Oh and it's time to start buying cute little dresses :) I can just hear my sister now - 'Show restraint Angela'. Ok I will - that's partly what consignment sales are for.
